Practice/Scrimmages/Jamborees

For all TMSGA schools, mandatory practice can begin no earlier than January 31, 2018 for the 2017-2018 season. If a player asks for help from their coach in the off-season, that is permitted, but it must be a voluntary activity for both player and coach. Those non-TMSAA schools that play golf in the fall season must also wait until January 31, 2018 to have a mandatory practice after their fall season ending event.

Each school is allowed to compete in a maximum of two (2) 9-hole scrimmages prior to the school's first regular season match. If a school participates in an 18-hole Jamboree, it will be considered the use of their two scrimmage maximum.

Should a District wish to compete in a Jamboree AND want it to count towards a regular season match, the Jamboree MUST take place on February 26, 2018 or later. Please note, a Jamboree will only count towards one (1) date of competition for any team participating.

Regular Season

The 2017-2018 TMSGA regular season begins February 26, 2018. Each team/individual is allowed to schedule and compete in a maximum of 15 dates of competition. Any team/individual that competes in more than 15 dates of competition will be deemed ineligible for all post-season play. The maximum allowable matches applies to all players as well (i.e. a player cannot play more than 15 combined dates of competition if competing on both Varsity and JV teams).

The district representative (see "Member Schools" for district representatives) will coordinate with their district coaches to design a schedule that falls within the above structure.

For a date of competition to count as played, it must be conducted under the current
TMSGA Rules of Play Guidelines and the competition must be played against at least one other full team.
